Princedale Road

Princedale Road runs north from the main road known as Holland Park and is generally considered to be on the border between the area known as Holland Park and Notting Hill.

This is a very attractive street mainly containing terraces of Victorian houses. Some of the houses have been turned into flats but many are still single homes. The houses are mainly 3 storey plus basement, some completely painted and some have facades which are painted at ground and basement level but with bare brick above.  One house is painted completely black and it works very well.

There is a pub and some small speciality shops at the north end of the street.  Also at the end some of the houses are individually coloured.

On the south side of Rosmead Road,  Nos. 1 and 2 were built in 1851 by James Emmins, who took the lease from C H Blake, who was then the freehold owner of this part of the area.
